1. Who We Are
HostVon is a cloud hosting service of Rooky, Inc. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you visit our website, register for an account, purchase hosting, or manage infrastructure through the HostVon console.
This policy covers information used to operate the HostVon service, including account, billing, and hosting administration records. It also explains the distinction between those records and the content you choose to store or process on your own server.
Read this policy alongside our Terms & Conditions and platform security information. Third-party services you use independently, including software installed on your VPS, have their own privacy practices.
2. Information We Handle
The information we handle depends on how you use HostVon. It includes information you provide directly, records created while delivering your hosting service, and confirmations received from service providers.
- Account and contact information. Your name, email address, account verification status, authentication records, and information you submit in account or service communications.
- Orders and billing records. Selected plans, billing terms, order and subscription identifiers, payment references, transaction status, and associated billing records. Card details are entered through Stripe-hosted checkout.
- Hosting and infrastructure records. Selected regions, server identifiers, assigned IP addresses, resource status, application selections, and management activity needed to provision and administer your service.
- Technical and security records. Session details, request information, authentication events, and security audit records used to operate the website, investigate errors, and protect customer accounts.
Only include information necessary to describe your issue when contacting us. Avoid sending passwords, private keys, payment card details, or unrelated personal information in service messages.
3. How We Use Information
We use service information to deliver and maintain the hosting you request, administer the customer relationship, and protect the platform.
- Account administration: create accounts, verify email addresses, authenticate sign-ins, and support account recovery.
- Service delivery: process orders, provision servers, display resource status, and carry out authorized management actions.
- Billing and communications: manage subscriptions, reconcile payment events, and send verification, billing, and service messages.
- Reliability and protection: diagnose failures, investigate suspicious activity, prevent abuse, and resolve service disputes.
- Recordkeeping: maintain records needed to meet applicable legal obligations and address outstanding account matters.
We do not sell personal information. The purposes described here concern the operation, administration, and protection of HostVon and the hosting services you choose.
4. Service Providers
HostVon relies on third-party providers for specific parts of the service. These providers receive information needed for their role and handle it under their own terms and privacy policies.
- Payments: Stripe processes checkout and payments. HostVon retains payment references, subscription status, and billing records to associate transactions with your account and orders.
- Infrastructure: Contabo supplies server infrastructure used to provision and operate hosting resources.
- DNS and communications: Cloudflare may provide DNS for managed application hostnames. Email providers deliver account verification and other service messages.
Processing locations
Your selected server region determines the placement of the hosting resource. Account administration, billing, email delivery, and other supporting services may be processed in different locations. A server-region selection does not guarantee that all information associated with your account is processed or stored in that region.
6. Security & Credentials
HostVon uses account ownership checks, email verification, signed payment webhooks, and encrypted storage for saved application secrets and server passwords. Customer server and billing actions check ownership before access is granted.
Server password reveal is restricted to the owning customer, and the displayed password automatically hides after a short period. These controls protect access through the console; they do not mean that every file or application on your VPS is encrypted or managed by HostVon.
Your role in protecting access
Keep account and server credentials secure, limit access to trusted people, and maintain your operating system and applications. If you suspect unauthorized access, use the HostVon account or order communications available to you to report it. No system is entirely risk-free. Review our security information for the division of responsibilities.
7. Retention & Your Choices
We retain information as needed to provide services, administer subscriptions, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and satisfy applicable recordkeeping obligations. Retention depends on the type of record, the status of your account, and any outstanding service, billing, or legal obligations.
Account settings and privacy requests
You can edit supported account details and cancel subscription renewal through the console. For requests concerning access, correction, deletion, or other applicable privacy rights, use your HostVon account or order communications and describe the information or account involved.
We may need to verify your identity before disclosing information or making changes. Some records may need to be retained where required by law or necessary to address outstanding obligations. Cancelling renewal, deleting browser cookies, and requesting deletion of account information are separate actions.
8. Your Hosted Data
You control the content, software, and personal information you place on your VPS. You are responsible for deciding what you collect through your applications, configuring access, and meeting the obligations that apply to your use of that information.
This policy describes HostVon’s handling of service and account information. It does not replace a privacy notice you may need to provide to visitors or customers of your own hosted applications.
Exporting and removing content
Maintain independent backups and export the data you need before reinstalling or ending service. Reinstallation erases server data, and server data may be permanently removed when service ends. Do not treat server cancellation as a request to delete all account and billing records.
9. Policy Updates
We may update this policy to reflect changes to HostVon, our operational practices, or applicable requirements. Material changes will be communicated through the website or account communications. The date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
For questions about this policy or how information associated with your account is handled, use your HostVon account or order communications. Refer to the Terms & Conditions for the service and billing relationship.
